$(100 + 0.5) \times (100 - 4)$
Step 2 : Now open the brackets by multiplying both brackets
$= 100 (100 - 4) + 0.5 (100 - 4) = 10000 - 400 + 50 - 2 = 9600 + 50 - 2 = 9650 - 2 = 9648$
Hence the result is $9648$
