Using the following figure, check whether the given pairs are adjacent or not.
(i) ∠EOC and ∠DOC
(ii) ∠DOC and ∠COB
(iii) ∠EOD and ∠AOB
(iv) ∠BOA and ∠BOE

Solution
(i) ∠EOC and ∠DOC share common arm OC and common vertex O. But from the figure, it is very clear that the angles are overlapping. Hence they do not form a pair of adjacent angles.
(ii) ∠D𝑶𝑪 and ∠𝑪OB are adjacent angles as they share common arm OC and common vertex O. Moreover these angles are not overlapping.
(iii) ∠𝑬𝑶𝑫 and ∠A𝑶𝑩 are not adjacent angles even though they share a common vertex O. From the figure we can conclude that they don’t share a common arm. Hence they are not adjacent.
(iv) ∠𝑩𝑶𝑨 and ∠𝑩𝑶𝑬 are adjacent angles as they share common arm OB and common vertex O. Hence they form a pair of adjacent angles.
