V2O5 is, amphoteric in nature. But mainly it is acidic. Still, it gives vVO3−4 as well as VO2+ salts. In vanadium, there will be a gradual change from the basic V2O3to less basic V2O4 and to the amphoteric V2O5. V2O4dissolves in acids to give VO2+salts.
