Venkanna purchased 50 dozen bananas for Rs.1250. He incurred transportation charges of Rs.250. He could not sell five dozen bananas as they were spoiled. He sold the remaining bananas at Rs.35 for each dozen. Will he get a profit or a loss? Find profit or loss percent.

Number of bananas purchased =50 dozen

Cost of bananas =1250

Transportation Cost =250

Total Cost Price =1250+250=1500

He sold only (505)=45 dozen bananas at 35 per dozen

Total Selling Price =35×45=1575

Profit or Loss =S.PC.P=15751500=75 (Profit)

Percent profit =(ProfitCP)×100=751500×100=5%

Profit he makes is Rs.75 or 5%.
