We have to Verify $a - (- b) = a + b$
Step 1: Find the value of L.H.S for $a = 21, b = 18$
L.H.S
$= a - (- b) = 21 - (- 18)$
$= 21 - (- 18) = 21 + 18$
$= 21 + 18 = 39$
Step 2: Find the value of R.H.S for $a = 21, b = 18$
R.H.S
$= a + b = 21 + 18$
$= 21 + 18 = 39$
So, L.H.S = R.H.S
Hence, $a - (- b) = a + b$ , holds true for $a = 21, b = 18$
