If $a,b,c$ are any three integers then$(a+b)+c=a+(b+c)$.

i.e.

$$\begin{gathered} [2+(-3\left)\right]+(-4)=2+[(-3)+(-4\left)\right] \\ [2-3]+(\hspace{0.17em}-4)=2+[-3-4] \\ (-1\hspace{0.17em})+(-4\hspace{0.17em})=2+(-7) \\ -1-4=2-7 \\ -5=-5 \end{gathered}$$

Hence , Associative property of addition is verified for $2+(-3)+(-4)$.
