Verify whether the following measures represent the sides of a right angled triangle.
1,2,3

Open in App
Solution

Let ABC be a triangle where AB=1, BC=3 and AC=2.

Now consider AB2+BC2

AB2+BC2=(1)2+(3)2=1+3=4=(4)2=22=AC2

Since AB2+BC2=AC2, therefore, Pythagoras theorem is valid hence ABC is a right angled triangle.

Hence, 1, 2 and 3 represent the sides of a right angled triangle.
