Verify whether the indicated numbers are zeros of the polynomials corresponding to them in the following cases:

(v) $f (x) = 5 x - π, x = \frac{4}{5}$

Given : $f (x) = 5 x - π, x = \frac{4}{5}$

We know that if $f (a) = 0;$ then $a$ is the zero of the polynomial $f (x)$ .

$∴ f (\frac{4}{5}) = 5 \times (\frac{4}{5}) - 3.14$

$= 4 - 3.14$

$= 0.86$

$∵ f (\frac{4}{5}) \neq 0$

Hence, $x = \frac{4}{5}$ is not the zero of $f (x) = 5 x - π,$ verified.
