If 18, a, (b − 3) are in AP, then find the value of (2a − b). [CBSE 2014]

It given that 18, a, (b − 3) are in AP.
$$\begin{gathered} \therefore a-18=\left(b-3\right)-a \\ \Rightarrow a+a-b=18-3 \\ \Rightarrow 2a-b=15 \end{gathered}$$

Hence, the required value is 15.
