Name major forms in which $C{O}_2$ is transported by blood.

CO2 is transported by blood in three major forms, i.e.

(i) in simple physical solution in the plasma as carbonic acid,

(ii) as hydrogen carbonates in plasma and erythrocytes, and

(iii) in combination with haemoglobin as temporary carbamino compound.
