Solution

The correct option is D 5 : 2
Let the required ratio be x : y Milk in x litres of 1st mixture =(x×49) litres =4x9 litres
Water in x litres of 1st mixture = =(x4x9)litres=5x9litres
Milk in y litres of 2nd mixture =(y×56)litres=5y6litres
Water in y litres of 2nd mixture =(y5y6)litres=y6litres
Milk:Water=(4x9+5y6):(5x9+y6)
=(8x+15y18):(10x+3y18)=(8x+15y):(10x+3y)
Given =8x+15y10x+3y=5432x+60y=50x+15y
18x=45yxy=4518=52
Required ratio = 5 : 2
