$= 1.5 x (1.5 x + 4 y + 3) - 4 y (1.5 x + 4 y + 3) - 4.5 x + 12 y$
$= 2.25 x^{2} + 6.0 x y + 4.5 x - 6.0 x y - 16 y^{2} - 12 y - 4.5 x + 12 y$
$= 2.25 x^{2} + 6.0 x y - 6.0 x y + 4.5 x - 4.5 x - 16 y^{2} - 12 y + 12 y$
$= 2.25 x^{2} - 16 y^{2}$
