When the piston is moved through a distance of 8.75cm, the path difference produced is 2×8.75 cm=17.5 cm. This must be equal to λ2 for for a change from maximum to minimum.λ2=17.5 cmλ=35 cm=0.35 m

So, v=nλn=vλ=3500.35=1000 Hz
