Vikas followed the steps given below to construct a triangle

Right-angled triangle LMN, with hypotenuse LN=8 cm and side MN=5 cm.

Step 1:
Draw the line segment MN of the length 5 cm.

Step 2:
Measure the angle M with your protractor. Make a mark at 90 degrees and draw a line MX from M passing through the mark.

Step 3:
Draw an arc with N as the centre and radius equal to 8cm, such that it intersects MX.

Step 4:
Mark the point of intersection as L.

Step 5:
Join points L and N.

To construct a triangle, two sides and one angle should be given and vice versa.

Since, this is a right angle triangle hence the angle to be constructed should be 90 degree.

Following the above steps, if we we can construct a right angle XMN at M after step 3, we can construct a triangle with the given measurements as is shown below.
