Solution

The correct option is C Rs.10
Let the apples and bananas be represented by a and b respectively.

cost of 6 apples and 3 bananas is Rs. 43.50.

6a+3b=43.5eqn(i)

Cost of 5 apples and 7 bananas is Rs. 61.

5a+7b=61eqn(ii)

On solving eqn(i)&(ii), we get

a=7.66,b=3.24

Hence the cost of 1 apple and 1 banana is Rs.7.66 and Rs.3.24 respectively.

Cost of 1 apple and 1 banana together =a+b=7.66+3.24=Rs.10

Hence C is correct answer.
