After discount, price = $55000 - \frac{5}{100} (55000) = \frac{55000 \times 95}{100} = p (l e t)$
sales tax = $\frac{5}{100} \times p \Rightarrow$ Total price = $p (1 + \frac{5}{100})$
$= 55000 (1 - \frac{5}{100}) (1 + \frac{5}{100})$
$= 55000 (1 - \frac{25}{10000}) = 55000 - \frac{55000 \times 25}{10000}$
= Rs.54862.5
