For this
1. first draw a number line with whole numbers 1,2,3,...
In that we know 5.282 will be between 5 and 6.

2. Now draw another line with 5 at one end and 6 at other end, in between there should be 10 points where it will be 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 ,... 5.9
in that we know 5.282 will be between 5.2 and 5.3

3. Now draw another number line with 5.2 at one end and 5.3 at other end. In between there should be 10 points which will represent 5.21, 5.22, 5.23,...,5.29
Now we know our required 5.282 will be between 5.28 and 5.29

4. Now draw another line with 5.28 at one end and 5.29 at other end. In between there should be 10 points which will represent 5.281, 5.282,....5.289
