Larynx is present in the anterior part of trachea and is considered as modification of trachea. It is a box like structure composed of cartilages-thyroid, cricoid, arytenoid, and cartilage of santorini. The arytenoid cartilage are two in number, and composed of hyaline cartilage. These cartilage are broad in base and pointed on ends. One end of vocal cords is attached with arytenoid and other end is attached with thyroid cartilage.
