Question

Volume and curved surface area of a cylinder are 1650cm3 and 660cm2 respectively.Find the radius and height of the cylinder.

Open in App
Solution

Let radius of cylinder be r. and height be h.
Given volume of cylinder 1650cm3
πr2h=1650.(i)
Curved surface area of cylinder =660cm2
2πrh=660(ii)
On dividing (i) by (ii), we get
πr2h2πrh=1650660r2=52
r=5×22
=5cm
substituting this value of r in equation (ii), we get
2πrh=660
2×227×5×h=660
h=660×72×22×5=21cm
Hence, the radius is 5cm and height is 21cm.
