We know that, for a solid heated to raise the temperature by ΔT
α:β:γ=1:2:3
Δ LL : Δ AA : Δ VV=1:2:3 ......(1)
Given, fractional change in volume of cylinder is ΔVV=0.06
From (1), the fractional change in surface area of the cylinder is given by
ΔAA=23×ΔVV=0.04
