_______________warming is due to accumulation of greenhouse gases.

Solution

Global warming:

  • Sun's radiation has higher energy when these radiations reach the earth's surface.
  • Some of the energy is radiated in the form of heat and the rest is reflected back into the space.
  • Greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide (CO2), water vapours, and methane (CH4) gases absorb this heat and prevent it from escaping, thus keeping the earth's atmosphere warm.
  • The process in which temperature rises on the earth's surface due to greenhouse gases is known as global warming.

Therefore, global warming is due to the accumulation of greenhouse gases.
