Solution

Conversion of energy:

Water at the bottom of a waterfall is slightly warmer than that at the top, because of the gravitational potential energy, which is first transformed into the kinetic energy of falling water, and then into thermal energy as it comes to rest at the bottom due to this the temperature of the water is somewhat greater at the bottom of a waterfall than at the top.
