Question

water cannot be used for extinguishing fire caused by kerosene
true or false

Open in App
Solution

Dear student, it is true that water cannot be used for extinguishing fire caused by kerosene because water is more dense than kerosene and hence kerosene will float in water. As water will spread oil will also spread and it will become difficult to control the fire. Hence carbon dioxide is used to extinguish fire by cutting off the oxygen supply. Thanks and regards.
