Question 9
Water cycle does not involve which of the following?
(a) Evaporation
(b) Condensation
(c) Formation of clouds
(d) Rainwater harvesting
The answer is option (d).
Water cycle does not involve rainwater harvesting. The process of water cycle includes evaporation, the formation of clouds and condensation. The water from oceans, rivers, lakes evaporates and rises into the atmosphere as water vapours (evaporation). The water vapour condenses into millions of tiny droplets that form clouds. The clouds lose their water as rain or snow, by the process known as condensation where water vapour condenses to form water, which is called precipitation. Rainwater harvesting involves recharging the groundwater.
