Water exists in all three states. Discuss.

Open in App
Solution

Water exists in three states (solid, liquid and gas) on earth naturally.

It exists as a liquid in water bodies such as rivers, oceans etc.

It exists as solid in the form of ice in Polar Regions and glaciers.

It exists as a gas in the form of vapours and clouds.

Below 0 degree Celsius water exits as ice and above 100 degree Celsius it exists as vapour. In between, it exits as a liquid.

Water exists in all three states: Solids, liquids and gas

In normal room temperature, water exists in the liquid state.
When we cool or freeze it, it changes into ice and freezes, evolving heat...thus it becomes solid.
When we heat it, it changes to steam and evaporates, absorbing heat....thus it becomes gaseous....
