Water flows through a cylindrical pipe of internal radius 3.5cm at 5 m\second.Calculate the volume of water in litres discharged by the pipe in one minute.

Open in App
Solution

Radius =r=3.5cm=3510cm

Speed h=5m/s=500cm/sec

Volume of flowing water in 1 second=πr2hcu.units

=227×3510×3510×500

Volume of flowing water in 60 second=πr2hcu.units

=227×3510×3510×500×60

=1155000cu.cm

=11550001000=1155litres.

Volume of flowing water in 60 second is 1155litres.
