Water from a cylindrical water tank of height 10.5m and a base with diameter 4.2m is emptied into a cuboidal water tank of dimensions 15m*7m*6m. Find the height of water in the cuboidal water tank
Dimensions of the cylinder: Height = 10.5 m
Radius = 4.2/2 = 2.1 m
Volume = π * r *r * h
= 3.14 * 2.1 *2.1 *10.5 = 145.39 cubical m
So 145.39 cubic m is the volume of water emptied from the cylindrical to the cuboidal tank.
Assuming the length and breadth of the cuboidal tank to be 15m and 7m respectively.
Thus the height in the cuboidal tank to which the water has filled is given by:
145.39 / 15*7 = Height = 1.384 m
So the water has filled to a height of 1.384m
