The correct option is A 225000m2
Given,
The width of the canal=30dm=300cm=3m
Depth of the canal=12dm=120cm=1.2m
Given,
Water flowing with velocity of 10km per hour.
Length of the water column formed in 12hour
=12×10
=5km
=5000m
Hence,
The volume of the water flowing in 12hour
=Volume of cuboid of length of 5000m width 3m and depth 1.2m
=5000×3×1.2
=18000m3
Let A m2 be the area irrigated in 12hour then,
A×8cm=18000m3
=>A×8100m=18000m3
=>A=225000m2
Hence, the required area is 225000m2
