Solution
width of canal = 3 m depth of canal = 1.2m rate of flow of water= 20 km /hr length of water column in 30min(1/2 Hour)= 1/2 * 20 KM = 10KM= 10000M VOLUME of water flown in 30min= 3m * 1.2m * 10000m = 36000m^3 10cm= 0.1m standing water is required therefor, area in 30min= volume/height =36000/0.1 = 360000m^2
