Solution

Water to which a few drops of dilute acid are added is called acidulated water.

  • Pure water doesn't conduct electricity since it has a negligible amount of ions.
  • But if we add some acid to water it will conduct electricity this type of water is called acidulated water.
  • On passing an electric current through acidulated water, the dissociation of water takes place into hydrogen ions (H+) and hydroxyl ions (OH-).

Hence, Water to which a few drops of dilute acid are added is called acidulated water.
