DNA Replication:
During cell division, DNA makes a copy of self. This process is known as DNA replication.
Watson and Crick proposed a semi-conservative model of DNA replication.
According to this model, the DNA helices replicate separately on each strand, thus retaining half of the genetic information.
One of the strands is conserved and the other is newly formed during replication.
The model was then proven by Meselson and Stahl.
