We cannot conveniently measure our body temperature using a laboratory thermometer mainly because it does not have a kink. The absence of a kink results in falling of the mercury level as soon as the thermometer is taken out of the mouth to take the reading. The accuracy of the obtained reading will be very low. Due to this reason, a clinical thermometer is preferred for measuring the body temperature.
