We continuously breathe in oxygen. Also, the population is rising at an alarming rate. So, why is oxygen not getting fully used up?

Plants make their own food by the process called photosynthesis. During this process, plants take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen. Plants consume oxygen for respiration, but they produce more amount of oxygen than they consume during photosynthesis. Animals, on the other hand, take in oxygen during respiration and give out carbon dioxide. Thus, the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is maintained.
