Solution

Keratinisation:

  1. The nails and hairs are made up of keratinized cells.
  2. These cells are found in the epidermis layer of the skin.
  3. The process due to which hair and nails grow is called keratinization.
  4. These are made up of dead cells which are not connected to the nerves of the brain.
  5. Hence, no pain is sensed when we clip our nails or cut our hair.
