Biodiversity is the genetic variation of the life forms found on the earth. It is of two types- 1) Genetic biodiversity and 2) Ecological biodiversity.
Causes of biodiversity loss:
  • Overpopulation
  • Pollution
  • Deforestation
  • Invasive species
  • Habitat loss and fragmentation
There are two types of biodiversity conservation methods as: in situ and ex situ conservation. The in situ conservation includes the national parks and sanctuaries. The ex-situ conservation includes herbarium and botanical gardens.
