Question

We know that all polynomials are algebraic expressions.
And -8 is a polynomial (monomial) of degree zero. Is -8 an algebraic expression ?
And is it true that algebraic expression should have at least one variable?

When you say that all polynomials are algebraic expression then -8 should also be an algebraic expression as -8 is a constant polynomial a monomial of degree 0. No an algebraic expression need not always have some variable. It can be a constant as in the case above
