We know that wax is a hydrocarbon. And we also know that hydrocarbons can make long chains which we can call network. So why wax is not considered as a network solid(covalent solid)??

Dear student,

The bond between the molecules of wax is not not covalent, it is the intramolecular bond that is covalent,
For the covalent solids the intermolecular bond is needed to be covalent. Hence wax is not a covalent solid.
