We read in newspapers that burning of fuels is a major cause of global warming. Explain why.

Burning of fuels release greenhouse gases in large amounts. Most of these fuels are carbon based and on burning release carbon-dioxide and carbon monoxide. Increase in the concentration of these gases is a major reason for global warming.
