Question

Weight of an object in air is 220 g in water is 180 g and in other liquid is 160 g. Find density of the liquid

Open in App
Solution

Weight of solid in air Ws,air = 220g
Weight of solid in water Ws,water = 180 g
Relative Density=R.D. of solid = Ws,air /(Ws,air - Ws,water) = 220/(220 - 180) = 220/40 = 5.5

R.D. of liquid = Loss of weight of solid in liquid / Loss of weight of solid in water
= (220 - 160)/(220 - 180) = 60/40 = 1.5
