Protein:

  1. Proteins are said to be molecules that are made up of large, complex molecules formed by one or more twisted and folded strands of amino acids.
  2. They are responsible for metabolism, movement, defense, cellular communication, and molecular recognition.
  3. Proteins are the macromolecular polypeptides formed of large molecules (macromolecules) made up of several amino acids and are bound to the peptides.
  4. Most common proteins contain more than 100 amino acids which are linked to each other in a long chain of peptides.
  5. Example: collagen, elastin, and keratin are some examples of proteins.
