Disorders of the digestive system:

Digestive disorders could be defined as a disorder which affects the process of digestion Three disorders of digestive system are:

  1. Jaundice:
    1. Mainly the liver is affected.
    2. It mainly affects the skin, and eyes and causes them to turn yellow due to the deposition of bile pigments.
  2. Diarrhoea:
    1. It is a condition of abnormal bowel movement causing continuous discharge of fluid from the anus.
    2. It occurs due to the following reasons: food allergies, viral infection or bacterial infection in the stomach
  3. Constipation:
    1. It is a condition of irregular bowel movement causing hardened faeces.
    2. It can occur due to the following reasons: indigestion of dairy foods, fat-rich content food, high fibre content food or lack of water in the body.
