Solution
Abiotic factors are the non-living factors of the ecosystem which plays a major role in the survival and development of an organism and also in the proper functioning of an ecosystem.
They include air, water, soil, temperature and light etc
1) Temperature: Temperature of the environment affects the metabolic processes and their rate.
Every organism has a specific range of temperature in which it can survive.
2) Water: Water is an essential requirement for the survival of an organism, but its requirement varies from organism to organism.
An area with higher water content is reported to have a higher species richness.
3) Wind: The velocity of wind in an area governs its temperature and humidity.
The wind speed can also affect the size of the vegetation growing in the area.
4) Light: The amount of sunlight an area receives greatly influences the growth of plants in that area.
It affects the moisture content of the soil as well as the humidity and temperature of the environment.
