The substances that act against oxidants arc called antioxidants. Antioxidants thus minimize the damage caused by oxidants. Antioxidants protect us against cardio vascular disease, cancer and cataract and they slow down the effect of ageing.
eg : Vitamin C, Vitamin E and $\beta$ - Carotene.
