What are artificial magnets? How are these classified?

1. Also called man made magnets as they are modified by human interventions.
2. Artificial magnets are made because natural magnets are very strong and have odd shapes while artificial magnets can be given required shape or strength.

Classification of artificial magnets:

They are of two types:

1. Temporary magnets- they can be demagnetised if not in use.
2. Permanent magnets- they cannot be demagnetised.
