Solution

Biotic and abiotic are the vital components of the ecosystem. The whole ecosystem is balanced on these two factors. Both the abiotic and biotic resources affect survival and reproduction process. These both components are interdependent on each other. Let us know more on this.

Biotic component

Biotic factors include the living components of an ecosystem. These factors depend on abiotic factors for survival and reproduction. Biotic components originate from the biosphere. Biotic resources comprises of all living organisms from animals and humans.

Examples

Listed below are the examples of biotic component

  • Soil bacteria
  • Fungi
  • Mushrooms
  • Trees
  • Herbs
  • Shrubs
  • All Animal

Abiotic component

Abiotic factors are the non-living, physical and chemical factors that influence an ecosystem. Abiotic components are completely independent of biotic factors. Abiotic components originate from different spheres like the lithosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere. In simpler words abiotic factors refer to all the non-living chemical and physical factors present in the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and lithosphere.

Examples

Listed below are examples of abiotic component

  • Precipitation
  • Altitude
  • Temperature
  • Type of soil
  • Minerals
  • Geographic location
  • Humidity
  • Wind
  • Dissolved oxygen
  • Turbidity
