• They are diagonally related to each other.

Examples of bridge elements:

• Lithium $\left(\mathrm{Li}\right)$ and Magnesium $\left(\mathrm{Mg}\right)$ are bridge elements.
• Beryllium $\left(\mathrm{Be}\right)$ and Aluminium $\left(\mathrm{Al}\right)$ are bridge elements.
