The characteristics of Photosynthesis include:

  1. It is a process that occurs solely in plants that have the green pigment chlorophyll used to prepare food.
  2. The requirements include Sunlight, water, and oxygen, where two processes occur one light-dependent and another which is light-independent.
  3. Plants mostly consist of the inhabitants of the plant kingdom which are autotrophs (make their own food), therefore photosynthesis provides an avenue to produce food.
  4. Photosynthesis occurs in chloroplast grana and thylakoids
  5. The end products of photosynthesis include oxygen and food (glucose).
