There are different types of soils and each have different characteristics.
The most common and widely spread in India is Alluvial soil.
Mentioning the characteristics of Alluvial soil. Post separately for other types of soil.
Following are the main characteristics of alluvial soil:

1. It is highly fertile soil.
2. It is rich in humus .
3. It is found in northern plains and delta areas.
4. It is ideal for growing sugarcane,wheat,rice etc
5. It is of two types
