Communicable diseases are infectious or contagious diseases that are caused by pathogens. [1 mark]
They are transmissible in nature as they can spread from any infected person to a healthy person. [1 mark]
When pathogens reach a healthy person through some agencies, like an insect bite, contaminated food or water, droplet transmission or through direct contact etc, then they are infected with the disease. [1 mark]
Some examples of communicable diseases are cholera, viral fever, chicken pox, malaria, typhoid, dengue, AIDs etc. [1 mark]
