  1. Liquids and gases are bad conductors of heat.
  2. So when they are heated, they expand, become less dense, and rise.
  3. Molecules from colder areas flow downwards to occupy their place.
  4. These molecules get heated and rise.
  5. This continuous process results in the formation of a current called convection current.
